Peru Lima 6: Pantanos de Villa – Pucusana – Puerto Viejo

Early in the morning we will visit Villa Wetlands (RAMSAR SITE) this ecosystem is located in Lima and shelters several species like Great Grebe, Pied-billed Grebe, Great Egret, Black-crowned Night-Heron, Cinnamon Teal, White-cheeked Pintail, Burrowing Owl, Osprey, Killdeer, Greater Yellowlegs, Peruvian Thick Knee, Many Colored Rush Tyrant, Peruvian Meadowlark, Yellow hooded Blackbird and other species.

In Pucusana we usually see Blackish Oystercatcher, Peruvian Seaside Cinclodes, Red-legged Cormorant, Humboldt Penguin, Inca Tern, Peruvian Pelican, Guanay Cormorant.

The next birding site is Puerto Viejo it is also a good place to get good views of smaller birds such as Short-tailed Field-Tyrantand, Grassland Yellow-Finch, Peruvian Thickknee, Many-colored Rush-Tyrant, Chestnut-throated Seedeater, Parrot-billed Seedeaters, Drab Seedeaters, Collared Warbling-Finch and Yellowish Pipit.
